Bastian Gerhard is an entrepreneur, visionary and technology evangelist with almost 15 years of professional experience in the information technology industry in which he has held a variety of senior management positions with innovative ICT and R&D companies including Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, inventor of the MP3 file format and largest organization for applied research in Europe. Prior to establishing Vitegic, Bastian played a key role at one of Japan's largest ICT consultancy companies and spent some time advising large European mobile carriers on Japanese mobile technologies and data services.

Bastian is currently holding an executive position at an Intel Capital venture company based in Tokyo where he works in the field of IP-based video broadcast solutions. Bastian earned a B.A. (Honours) degree from Middlesex University, and an M.S. degree in Information Systems Management from the University of Liverpool.
